Holy Grail Hair Products!

Holy Grail Hair Products!

Hair products are one of my favorite things to try and I have tried my fair share of them for sure. My hair and I have had a long journey to say the least. When I was younger I was obsessed with dying my hair, and not only dying, but bleaching. I have thick and frizzy hair as it is, so heat styling is also something I do frequently. My hair was always long, like below my belly-button long and that’s how I loved it, I hated getting my hair cut. I saw the dead ends increasing and increasing until their were so many I thought it would look better to just chop my hair to my shoulders. Behind the short hair, was finally healthy soft hair and that’s when I started over. No more box dying, now I only occasionally get a bayalage to give my hair some dimension and lighten it up a little bit.

Don’t get me wrong, I still heat style my hair and dye it occasionally but I am using the right products and doing the necessary maintenance to keep it healthy. That’s not to say I have no split ends, or my hair is perfectly healthy but with using these products I see such an improvement and it’s just getting better the more I use them.  Like I said I LOVE trying new hair products, I love healthy, shiny looking hair. (Who doesn’t right?) With that being said, the first product I am going to share with you guys is my number 1, favorite product for dry/damaged hair.

My hairdresser always recommends the greatest hair products, and I would say to always listen to what they say because they know your hair probably better than you do. My salon uses the Olaplex system to protect your hair from chemical damage that can happen when you dye your hair. Steps 1 & 2 are only used by professionals in the salon, however no. 3 is sold as a treatment you can use at home. I started using this product about a month and a half ago and the results I have already seen are just incredible! My hair is so much softer, and just genuinely feels stronger. It says to use it 1x per week in the shower before you shampoo, but if you have dry/damaged hair you can use it 2-3x per week, which I did in the beginning. It is a little on the expensive side for me because I have so much hair I use 1/4 of the bottle for one use. Hair products are something I don’t mind splurging on because healthy hair makes such a difference in my opinion.

I wanted to share 3 products for each step of the hair process, so Olaplex is used in the shower. Next I wanted to mention something I use when I get out of the shower and my hair is still damp. I found this product over this past summer when my hair was needed some moisture, and I have always loved Bumble and Bumble. so i decided to give their Daytime Protective Repair Fluid a try. First off, it smells amazing which is always a plus when it comes to hair products. Aside from the smell, it gives your hair such a lightweight feel, and hydrates my ends where they really need it. This product is also more on the affordable side because it’s a thin fluid that lasts forever.

Lastly, we all need a good styling product. As I mentioned earlier, I have frizzy hair especially when I let my hair go natural. I was constantly looking for something that would help my frizz and not make my hair look oily or greasy. Again, recommended by my hairdresser was IGK’s Thirsty Girl  Coconut Milk Leave-In Conditioner. This is such a lifesaver for anyone with frizzy hair, plus it also acts as a hydrator. I put this to the test in 95 degree weather while walking around DisneyWorld, that’s how you know it really works. Again, this stuff smells UNREAl, and that’s partly the reason I use this product everyday as well because it leaves your hair smelling amazing.

I hope you guys took something away from this post, and I’m sure some of you can relate to this hair journey. So maybe some of these products can help you get on the road to recovery, like they did for me! Comment below and let me know your favorite products!

With love, Taylor
