Staying Warm This Winter

I am all about being fashionable but also being smart when it comes to dressing weather accordingly. Sometimes this can be difficult when the weather is always changing and when it’s just super cold. Here in NJ, the weather has been in the 60’s one day and 30’s the next so my closet has been a little confused. There is always a go-to piece in my closet that I have out all year long for an emergency cold day but also cute outfit.

Cardigans in general are such an important part of my wardrobe. Cardigans add an extra layer of style to an outfit because they come in so many different styles and colors. If you’re wearing a plain t-shirt, adding a cardigan that has a pattern is a go-to outfit of mine because it is just so easy. I also love them because they can be thin to throw over something just to give a little warmth, or in this case they can be nice and thick to keep you warm.

This cardigan I found in South Moon Under, and couldn’t not buy it once I felt how soft it was. I knew it was going to come in handy for the winter and even fall when I just didn’t feel like wearing a jacket. It is pretty neutral so it’s easy to pair with anything in your closet and can totally be dressed up or down. I have worn this with a plain black dress and it complimented it so nicely, but it makes an outfit like this with a plain black t-shirt so much more fun. I would also love to layer this cardigan with a scarf to make it even more appropriate for the winter weather. I paired it here with, a pair of mom jeans from Madewell, lace up booties made by Lucky Brand and a plain black tee from Brandy Melville. It is even nice to just lounge around inside with this cardigan on, it’s almost like a robe and it’s so soft.

Winter is probably my least favorite season weather wise. I love the holiday season but the cold weather and I don’t get along so well. So, when I find a staple for my winter wardrobe it’s only fair that I share it with you guys so everyone can try to enjoy the weather while still looking fab. This year I have seen these long thick cardigans all over the shelves. I have a few from Madewell (of course) and will link a few more for you here: (Madewell, Nordstrom, REVOLVE). For those of you who are like me, and don’t obsess over the cold weather I hope you find a way to stay fashionably warm and can tough it out until the warmer weather comes along. Be sure to keep an eye out on my youtube, blog and insta over the next few days while I make up for some lost time! In the meantime, stay warm & beautiful!

With love, Taylor
